Are You Aware of the New?

Isaiah 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

The Lord is saying, New things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them. That is where we are right now. We are receiving revelations of new things. He is telling us of the new things that will take place.

Isaiah 43:18-19 Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Here He is saying, Now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? He was telling us of them, but now they are springing forth. But just because they are doesn’t mean that you are aware of them springing forth. So He asks, Shall ye not know it? And in verse 18 He said, Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. In other words, let’s get our focus off of the old realm. Let’s quit living in the old realm. We are not going to remember it anymore! We won’t experience the new things springing forth until we start throwing off all the baggage of the old.

II Corinthians 5:16-17 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (creation): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

We are becoming a new creation. The former things have come to pass, as Isaiah prophesied. They are done, over with! They are completed! You can’t get any more out of them. Old things are passed away; all things are become new.

Basically, Paul is saying the same thing Isaiah said in chapter 43, “Don’t remember the former things; new things have come. Now they spring forth; shall you not know it?” As long as you are focused on the old things you won’t be aware of the new things coming forth. Paul said, Henceforth know we no man after the flesh. That means our old man, too. We are not going to see ourselves after the flesh anymore. We are not going to see ourselves in the old way. We’re changing our outlook, the way we think, and the way we feel. Everything is becoming a new creation. Even our relationship with Christ is becoming new. We will no longer know Christ in the old way. A new relationship on a new level is being created.
