John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
If you cannot see, then He has come that you might see. If you think you can see, you must be made blind so that you realize you can’t see, for the Lord can only heal your blindness when you know that you are blind.
John 9:40-41 And some of the
Pharisees which were with Him heard these words, and said unto Him, Are we
blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If
you were blind, you should have no sin: but now you say, We see; therefore your
sin remains.
Jesus gave sight to the blind. Do you want spiritual perception? Do you want to see Christ in the Word? Do you want to receive revelation? Well, you must be blind first. He can’t work the miracle of opening your eyes until you know you are blind. As long as you think you can see already, your sin remains. Your biggest problem is to think you know when you don’t, to not realize your need.
We must be teachable. It is very hard to teach someone something when they think they already know. God has a difficult time of leading us into more of Him when we have the feeling, “Well, I know. I know what God is all about. I know what He is like. Do you want me to tell you about God? I’ll explain Him to you.”
The Lord heals the blind. If you want to see into the things of God, you will have to first realize you are blind. Then He can enable you to see. If you want to hear what God is speaking in this day, you first must realize you are deaf, that you cannot hear the voice of the Lord because it is on another realm. After you realize you are deaf, then God can heal your hearing.
There is a world of people out there that don’t know God, and many of them have no desire to know Him. What’s the problem? They don’t know they have a need. They think they are alright. It is only when you realize how corrupt your flesh nature is that you really begin to cry out to the Lord for His righteousness. When you know who you are and what you are, then the Lord is compassionate and can help you.
