The Fathering Ministry

We’re in a transition. We are learning how to relate to the Lord on a higher level. The transition is from a relationship with Jesus the Nazarene to a relationship with the Lord of glory. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, to learn how to know the Lord of glory when we continue to relate to Him as Jesus the Nazarene. Therefore, it is to our advantage for Him to withdraw on the man realm that we might learn to know Him spiritually.

Jesus said, I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away (John 16:7). Master, “Where are you going?” And He answers, A little while, and you shall not see Me: and again, a little while, and you shall see Me, because I go to the Father (John 16:16). The disciples did not understand what He was saying. Then said some of His disciples among themselves, What is this that He says unto us, A little while, and you shall not see Me: and again, as little while, and you shall see Me: and, Because I go to the Father? They said therefore, What is this that He says, A little while? We cannot tell what He says. John 16:17-18.

The disciples did not understand what He was saying, but they experienced it later. They had walked with Him but they had not become what they were yet to be. Jesus Christ has to move into the Fathering ministry in order to bring sons to birth. He could not do that as Jesus the Nazarene. “It is expedient for you that I go away to Spirit, because until I do you can’t become what I want you to be.” So He moves out of the Jesus the Nazarene ministry into the Fathering ministry. He does that so we can become sons.

John 15:7-8 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be My disciples.

There are two points of interest here. One, you cannot abide in Jesus the Nazarene, but you can abide in the Lord of glory. This abiding in Him is only possible after He leaves the Nazarene ministry and moves into the Lord of glory ministry. The Lord of glory ministry is the Fathering ministry that brings forth sons.

Two, they were already disciples of Jesus the Nazarene; they would become disciples of the Lord of glory. When you abide in Him and He abides in you, you will be able to learn things you would never have learned as disciples of Jesus the Nazarene. The Lord of glory is the Fathering ministry that brings forth sonship.
